What is a Mixing It Up Painting Event like?

An exciting unique night out!

Your night will start by arriving at the event venue 10-15 minutes early to chose your seat and grab a drink to calm your nerves!! Pop on your apron, socialise a bit and wait for the fun to begin.

We provide all the tools of the trade to complete the painting & an experienced artist to guide you! Artistic skills are not a necessity just a willingness to watch, listen and give it a go! Each piece of acrylic paint on canvas artwork is one of a kind!!! Our artists will take you step by step through the featured painting of the night.

Our venues are hand picked by our team for their relaxed atmosphere to help you reconnect with friends, wash off the grind of daily life and to encourage those creative juices to flow along with your drink of choice. After two hours of painting, chatting, laughing, and exceeding your initial expectations you will have a completed masterpiece to take home with you!

We take photos throughout the night which we post to our Facebook and social media pages to share your experience far and wide! We encourage you to do the same tag us tag yourself! Then perhaps best of all you can move on with your night and we clean up!

Each venue has a delicious menu available for you to order from before, after or during the event. Each venue has platters or nibbles to share with your friends (differs at each venue). You are able to order throughout the night from the venues bar for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. We do offer some early bird ticket specials where your ticket will include one house beer or wine!

Is there an age limit? Can I bring someone who is under the legal drinking age?

Mixing it up public events are for adults aged 18 and older. Due to our venues being in licensed premises we need to stick to New Zealand drinking age laws.

If you are organising a private event with our team please let us know if any members are going to be underage. We can discuss this with our venues and make arrangements. Please don’t assume this is a given – we do need to get permission from our venue partners!

How much is a session & what does it include?On average each session is $65 (incl GST) and includes an artist who guides you step by step, all of the tools of the trade required to complete the painting, photos of the night posted on our Facebook page from the event, a unique night out with friends or loved ones that allows you to relax, reconnect, get creative and have fun, and best of all you get a painting (created by you) to take home and hang front and centre of course!

Drinks are excluded in the seat price (unless you grab an early bird ticket which includes one house beer or wine). Each venue has an extensive drink and food menu for you to purchase from on the night!!! We think bubbles and brushes go hand in hand!

How do I buy a ticket for a Mixing It Up Painting event?

Visit our Upcoming events page. Click on the painting that tickles your fancy and follow the payment directions. You can use a debit/credit card through our website, you can also drop us a line if you need assistance! Please make sure you book in advance to make sure we have seats available for you!!

Do I have to buy a ticket for an event or can I walk-in?

We strongly encourage you to purchase a ticket for the event you want to attend, as we have limited seating.

Walk-ins will only be admitted if you arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time and if there are seats available.

Do I have to paint the featured painting of the night?

If your creative juices want to lead you in their own direction on the night that’s fine!!! Our artist will be taking the group step by step through the featured painting of the night. You can change the colours, shapes, etc. of the painting to match your home decor or just follow along with the artist, whichever you prefer!

What options do you have for people with a disability?

For people with disabilities, we are happy to work with you and our artists to get things set up the way you need them to be. We recommend picking a venue you already know meets your needs access wise. If the venues aren’t familiar to you it may be worth a quick phone call or email to us to ensure we can make it work! .

If there’s anything specific you need from us, such as space for a service dog or wheel chair let us know in the email, and we’ll work with our team and venue!

Do I need to bring anything?

All you need to bring is yourself and your can do attitude!What should I wear?

Aprons are provided for each person, but we can’t guarantee a little paint splatter won’t venture off your canvas! Especially when everyone is having a good laugh!! Our advice would be to wear clothing you don’t mind getting paint on. We do use easy clean,water soluble paint to help reduce any lasting damage!How do I get my painting home?

We suggest making sure your painting is dry to the touch before it is ready to travel. Otherwise, be sure to travel with your painting face up. By the time you get it home, it should be dry and ready to make its debut on your wall!

Do you offer private events?

Yes! A Mixing It Up Painting event will be a perfect fit for any type of night out, birthdays, hens parties, girls nights, or work do’s! Visit the corporate or private events page on our website for more information!What is your cancellation policy?

A 48-hour notice is required in writing to have a credit issued to use your ticket at a later date. We do not issue refunds. No shows will not be refunded or rescheduled. Rebooking requests MUST be done by emailing: info@mixingitup.co.nz
